Eng. ALHOGAIL as President of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP)
The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) announced during the meeting of the general assembly held in Brussels the appointment of Eng. Khalid bin Abdullah ALHOGAIL as president of the Association after winning the recent presidential elections, which reflects the Saudi’s leading position in the field of transport through the huge projects that are being implemented.
The appointment of Eng. “ALHOGAIL” as President of the (UITP) reflects the Saudi’s great interest in establishing and developing the transport system in the Kingdom within the 2030 vision to enhance the quality of life by providing modern transport networks and that the Kingdom includes at least 3 cities in the list of the best 100 cities in the world, and to be a global logistics center and hub.
ALHOGAIL, has contributed within the board of directors and the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) team, to the renaissance of the transportation system in the Saudi Arabia through diversification of services and continuous keeping pace with the developments of the transportation in the world by attracting global partnerships and forming international alliances to provide various transportation services such as public transportation, educational transportation, Shared mobility, self-driving buses, and others. These efforts resulted in winning two contracts for operating and maintaining Riyadh buses and metro within the competition of the King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh, one of the largest transport projects in the world.
ALHOGAIL is currently occupying the position of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer "CEO" of the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi French Public Transport Company, and the Board of Directors of the Saudi-Emirates Integrated Transport Company (SETCO).
"ALHOGAIL" thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Highness the Crown Prince for their keenness and support in all matters that would lead the Kingdom in international forums. He expressed his thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Transport, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, and His Excellency the President of the General Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, for their support and their tireless and continuous work in developing the transport industry in Saudi Arabia.
“ALHOGAIL” also expressed his thanks to His Excellency Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAPTCO, for his continuous interest in supporting his candidacy and winning the elections that took place, as part of his efforts to develop SAPTCO and raise its position to be a leader in business in the region, especially mobility and digital services.
The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) is established on the year 1885 AD, whereas its headquarter is located in Belgium – Brussels. It is considered the only international network that gathers all parties related to public transport. It is the international reference for transport industry and its modes, as it includes more than (1800) bodies and organizations existing in more than (100) countries represented by more than (16,000) members.
