Public Transport Projects

As a part of King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City launched the Riyadh Bus Service, which includes five phases for the full operation of the current and future transportation needs in Riyadh City.
The five phases of the Riyadh Bus Network were launched in the past month of Sha'ban, corresponding to March 2023, and the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, corresponding to June 2023, and the month of Safar, corresponding to August 2023 of this year. These phases witnessed major advertising campaigns and service additions, including dedicated bus lane services. In the month of Rabi' al-Thani, corresponding to October 2023, the seventh phase was launched to expand the comprehensive network to serve 40 routes through 614 buses covering more than 1632 stations and stops. In the month of Jumada al-Thani, corresponding to December 2023, the fifth phase was launched to complete the launch phases of Riyadh buses, bringing the total number of routes to 54, serving through 672 buses, and 2145 stations and stops.


A Public Transport Project in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah that serves a network of various routes covering all parts of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah through a set of scheduled round trips in an organized manner. The number of stations has reached 116 stations covering most attractions in the city, connected by five main routes serving the area with a range of modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities, and prepared to serve people with special needs. Its operating hours extend for 16 hours daily, starting from 6 AM until 10 PM throughout the week.


A Public Transport Project in the Eastern Region that serves a network of various routes within the cities of Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, and Qatif through scheduled and organized trips covering a total distance of 400 km round trip. The number of stations has reached 212, reaching most attractions in these cities, with 85 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities, and prepared to serve people with special needs. Each bus accommodates 81 passengers and operates for 18 hours daily. starting from 5:30 AM until 11:30 PM throughout the week.


A Public Transport Project in the city of Jeddah that serves a network of various routes covering all parts of the city through a set of scheduled round trips in an organized manner. The number of stations has reached 72, covering most attractions in the city, across 6 main routes serving the area with 76 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities, and prepared to serve to people with special needs, operating for 18 hours daily from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM throughout the week.


A Public transport project in the city of Taif that operates a regular network of service routes, providing 58 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities and prepared to serve people with special needs. These buses operate for 18 hours daily, from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM throughout the week, across 9 main routes connecting the city's key centers, landmarks, and attractions through 184 stops and scheduled trips covering a total distance of 293 kilometers. This project, which serves over two million beneficiaries annually including Taif residents and visitors, contributes to enhancing safety levels, reducing congestion, facilitating transportation within the city, and providing diverse transportation options.


A public transport project in the Qassim region that serves a network of various routes covering both the city of Buraidah and the province of Unaizah through a set of scheduled round trips in an organized manner, with a total distance of 508 kilometers for all routes. The number of stations has reached 210, covering most attractions in those cities, by providing 73 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety amenities and prepared to serve people with special needs. Each bus accommodates 89 passengers, operating for 18 hours daily from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM throughout the week.


The public transportation project in the Jazan region. The project serves a network of different lines within the city of Jazan, Sabya, and Abu Arish, via scheduled and organized trips with a total distance of 293 km for one way and return, for all routes, as the number of established stations reached 84 stations covering most of the attraction points in the cities mentioned above, by providing 47 modern buses equipped with amenities and safety and equipped to serve people with special needs. The passenger capacity of one bus is 81 passengers, operating 18 hours a day, from 5:30 am until 11:30 pm, seven days a week.


The public transport project in Tabuk city serves a network of different lines within Tabuk city, through scheduled and organized trips with a total distance of 128 km for outbound and return trips for all lines. The number of stations established reached 106 stations covering most of the attractions within Tabuk city by providing 30 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety means and prepared to serve people with special needs. The passenger capacity of one bus is 89 passengers, operating 18 hours a day, from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm, all days of the week.


The Public Transport Project in Al-Ahsa Governorate serves a network of different lines within Al-Ahsa Governorate, through scheduled and organized trips with a total distance of 336 km for round trips and for all lines. The number of stations established has reached 135 stations covering most of the attractions within Al-Ahsa Governorate through the provision of 41 modern buses equipped with comfort and safety features and prepared to serve people with special needs. The passenger capacity of one bus is 89 passengers, operating 18 hours a day, from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm, seven days a week.
