Eng. Khalid Alhogail, MD-CEO of SAPTCO Group, participated in a session titled "AI Challenges in the Job Market," held during the International Labor Market Conference organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development from January 29–30, 2025.
The session addressed the impacts of artificial intelligence on the future of the job market and the challenges faced by companies and various sectors in adopting modern technologies. Discussions also focused on how to strike a balance between reliance on technology and AI on one hand, and maintaining sustainable job opportunities on the other.
In his remarks, Eng. Khalid Alhogail emphasized that artificial intelligence should be regarded as a partner rather than a replacement for humans in the job market. He highlighted its importance as a tool to enhance performance efficiency and provide individuals with opportunities to develop their skills.
He pointed out that achieving maximum productivity or improving it requires focusing on three key pillars: education, training, and system changes. He stated:
"If we are talking about benefiting from or improving productivity, what is the key word we need to focus on to achieve that? Education, training, and system changes. These are the foundations for leveraging our increasing productivity."
Alhogail also noted that each generation naturally adapts to modern technologies, asserting that artificial intelligence is no exception. He expressed confidence in the younger generation's ability to adopt this technology effectively, contributing to their skill development and integration into various aspects of daily life.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing human skills to keep pace with technological advancements, highlighting the role of companies in fostering innovation and supporting national talent to ensure sustainable employment and achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
It is worth mentioning that the International Labor Market Conference aims to exchange expertise and showcase the latest practices in the labor market field, with the participation of a select group of executives and local and international experts.
