SAPTCO launched its plan for developing and diversifying its transportation services in 2007, under which it adopted a project for strategic development (SAPTCO Metro) as a step to contribute to the development of transportation within the Kingdom. SAPTCO executed an agreement with its French Partner – RATP DEV, in establishing the CAMCO Company that was awarded a contract from the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) on 17 Sept 2018; for operating and maintaining two of the six lines of the metro. The First Line (Blue Line: distance 38 km) and the Second Line (Red Line: distance 25.3 km) in Riyadh for twelve (12) years, is jointly owned by the French RATP Company (80%) and Saudi Public Transport Company “SAPTCO” (20%).
